Another ruse?
by Pistoff incould the stopping of construction be just another ruse to squeeze money from the rank and file?.
it will certainly generate buzz like nothing else..

This is just entirely shocking, I'm just at loss for words over this, if the construction work is suspended. That big May 2014 letter about forever loan forgiveness with the congregations on a never ending monthly lump sum send to the Borg for supposedly a need for kingdom halls. Wow!! This has just got to be sending shock waves through the Borg community. -

Any thoughts on the real reasons for droppng the 'school"
by sparrowdown inmy thoughts are.
1. they want to avoid being made to comply with any laws that come with anything classed as a "school" especially a school with children enrolled.. 2. the mid-week meeting has been dying in the ass for years and needs a revival.
i predict happy -clappy-sing-a-longs to be included in the program.. anyone else have any thoughts ??

Daringhart;
Wait, what??? Are they dropping the Theocratic School??
yes, it sure appears that way. We just have to wait until confirmation when the letter is officially read to the rank and file next Sunday.

Brooklyn Layoffs and Halt to Kingdom Hall construction projects
by James Jack ina good source just just told me that at morning worship today that the governing body announced that a total of 1600 bethelites will be let get go and not transferred to warwich when the last property is sold in brooklyn and all kingdom hall building projects are on hold for at least a year so that all the focus will be on the preaching work.

I feel bad for most of the people who'll be laid off. Many of them sacrificed a lot in service of what they sincerely felt was right.
However, one of the most arrogant people I know is a Bethel elder who gets sent to conventions to give talks. I knew him 20 years ago before he ever went to Bethel. I won't feel sorry for him at all if he doesn't make the cut. He can go to hell.
We can appreciate that sentiment. But I tend to begin to agree with what someone else said yesterday. If someone set themselves to be screwed, why feel sorry for them? screw-em

Calm Down Everybody, We Will Know Soon Enough
by OnTheWayOut inseriously, they will change the midweek meeting ever so slightly.
it is just repackaging of the same old stuff.seriously, we don't know if construction is halted for days, weeks, months, forever, or what.. we don't know if new kingdom halls will still go up, old kingdom halls will be closed and sold.
they have laid off bethelites before and they will lay them off some more.

Maybe some honcho up top is turning apostate, could explain all these leaks before something is released to the rank and file -

A simple explanation for the financial changes
by JeffT inas i've mentioned from time to time, i'm a retired accountant.
i have tried many times to come up with some logical, sound business reason why the wtbs has made the big changes in its financial arrangements: taking the congregations savings, the monthly donations per congregation etc.
i finally came up with the answer.. the leadership of the watchtower society is batshit crazy.

I think the $hit is about to hit the fan with these financial issues. Probably that Royal Commission had more detrimental effects which we don't really know about. -

More Conditioning in Sunday's Watchtower
by Socrateswannabe inhave you read the article, "this is our place of worship" in the july 15, 2015 study edition of the watchtower?
it is the study article for this coming sunday.
note the brainwashing techniques they're using to condition the jws to a total takeover of their kingdom halls, in the excerpts below.

Sunday's WT was probably one of the most hideous ones yet. The conditioning and mind control was just horrendous. -

From Brazil:
I knew of a congregation that had some land and build the Kingdom Hall this year. Announcement today: Current Kingdom Hall will be sold and there will be construction.
In the same state, a work was in progress. Built walls and R $ 80,000 (approximately $ 20,000) on purchased building materials. Letter Branch: canceled work.
All expansion works at Bethel in Brazil stopped.
This is all so peculiar, odd yet interesting. This is just a complete 180 from May 2014 about that letter regarding the mortgage forgiveness then the constant lump sum to bethel each month. This was all for the ''supposed'' need of Kingdom Halls, but everything and everywhere is now at a halt? Yes very interesting.

Revolt Brewing At Headquarter and Different Branches and The Governing Body Is Losing Credibility Among It's Staff
by Brokeback Watchtower inin my mind i see this as a very real situation developing rapidly world wide as these child molestation pay out become public knowledge and can no longer be denied or kept secret from the r&f.
pretty soon the governing body will be the but of many jokes at headquarters and abroad.
they are being caught red handed while robbing the cookie jar.

berryjerry;
''all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether they seem strategic from a human standpoint or not''
They could swing this and put it in a way that they are being obedient. Plain and simple. By sending people home from bethel.

If this is true about the construction work being suspended, there is just no logic. The May 2014 letter about the loan forgiveness to the congregations, but to keep on sending a lump sum of money each month, now this?? Something seems very, very wrong with the Borg. That is if they are to keep on receiving millions from the congregations each month then only to suspend construction work. What gives??
